Type D Pocket

The Type D Pocket fits motorized or manual FlexShades, enabling headbox installation during construction and shade installation at a later time.

The Type D Pocket features an extruded aluminum pocket headbox complete with tile lip for ceiling-recessed installation. The Type D can accommodate either a motorized or a manual FlexShade. Installation of the headbox during the initial phase of construction helps eliminate job site damage and allows the shade to be installed later. Compatible with single roller endcaps or mounting brackets. Not suitable for all products/sizes.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

  • Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
  • Approved permanent warning label attached
  • Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.

Approved permanent warning label
