Control Systems

Control systems are a critical part of Solar Control Solution design. Exterior shading systems, for example, are designed to control heat gain by preventing it from entering the building, and will often be automated to respond to the sun conditions. Roller shades and venetian blinds can automatically deploy when there is sun on the glazing. The slats of venetian blinds and rack arm systems can move between different tilt angles to prevent direct sun penetration. Roller shades and venetian blinds can also retract if the wind speed is too high.

The Draper^® IntelliFlex^® I/O is a complete control system that is flexible and expandable to the size and complexity of a project. It can be used with any type of shading system, or combination of shading systems on a project.

Key features of IntelliFlex^® I/O include:

• Intelligent motors for roller shades
• 1 and 4 motor controllers for other shading systems
• 3rd party integration through an A\V Gateway or Contact Closure Interface
• BMS / BAS interface via the BACnet communications protocol
• Programmable switches
• Ability to connect multiple sensors - brightness, wind, temperature, solar radiation etc.
