Exterior Motorized FlexShade^® XL

The Exterior Motorized FlexShade^® XL outdoor shade offers independent control for larger sizes and is available with cable guides or side channels.

The Exterior Motorized FlexShade^® XL provides reliable outdoor solar control for large windows and openings. Designed for both residential and commercial applications, it offers convenient operation via wall switch or remote. The shade raises and lowers quietly to filter harsh sunlight, reduce glare, and help regulate temperature for a more comfortable space.

CHILD SAFETY NOTICE: This product complies with ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022-Child Safety Standard and has been Certified Best for Kids™ by the Window Covering Safety Council.

Curved or angled headbox available. Dimension for both headboxes: 5” wide x 5” high (127 mm x 127 mm).

Available in sizes up to 192” (488 cm) w and 132” (335 cm) h, depending on fabric selection.

Hardware features powder coat finishes with a lightly textured surface in black, ivory, bronze, white, sand, and slate. Custom powder coat colors are also available.

Cable guides required for wind protection (secures hem bar only, not fabric).

Weighted, exposed hem bar stabilizes the shade during operation.

Hem bar is powder coated in standard exterior colors; custom powder coat options are available.

Shade system should be retracted when wind speeds exceed 15 mph or when movement causes noise or visual distraction. For high-wind areas, consider the FlexShade® ZIP XL.

Radio frequency motor (standard). Standard 4 wire motors available upon request.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 Child Safety Standard

Effective June 1, 2024, in compliance with the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 child safety standard, all Draper^® window shades operated by a bead chain will be furnished with a tensioned hold-down device that is permanently attached and partially disables the product if not installed correctly. This hold-down should be installed with tension on the chain.

All bead chain operated window shades will include:

Permanently installed spring-loaded tensioned hold-down device
Approved permanent warning label attached
Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included. Screws provided are not suitable for all mounting surfaces. The installer is responsible for secure mounting using appropriate hardware for the site conditions. Consult with contractors and builders as needed.

If the tension device is not installed with appropriate tension on the bead chain, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain.
